Thao Moore is the Chef and Owner of Green Mangos, a highly regarded Minnesota small business specializing in wedding and corporate catering. Thao was born in Vung Tau, Vietnam, moved to the United States when she was 4, attended high school in Bloomington and then graduated from University of Minnesota – Duluth.
After spending years in the corporate world, she decided to pursue her passion for food. When her culinary career was building momentum, Chef Moore looked to Saint Paul College for skills training in 2010 through the Wine Professional Certificate program. After receiving her Certified Wine Professional designation, Thao further honed her skills by shadowing Charlie Tsegeletos, the head winemaker at Cline Cellars and Jacuzzi Vineyards in Sonoma, California. Reflecting on her choice, Chef Moore stressed that, “The culinary field is very competitive and demanding. Gaining an education and keeping up with the changes in the field is critical to your success!”
